AD notes :
From an AD perspective, one of the most challenging aspects of this project was coordinating difficult logistics, while keeping everything on schedule. Another major challenge was balancing the director’s creative vision with practical constraints such as child actors working regulations and location limitations. Handling last-minute changes—whether due to weather (at sea for example) or technical issues— often meant reorganizing the schedule on the fly without disrupting the overall workflow.
The biggest take-away from the project was the importance of adaptability and clear communication in a complex, fast-paced production environment. Working across different teams, cultures, and regulatory frameworks highlighted how crucial it is to stay flexible and solution-oriented, especially when unexpected challenges arise.
Additionally, the experience reinforced the importance of cultural awareness and collaboration. Navigating language differences and varying working styles taught me to communicate more precisely and to approach teamwork with greater sensitivity.
One thing I would like colleagues from around the world to know is how valuable international collaboration can be, even though it comes with its challenges. Working across different cultures, languages, and production systems pushed us to communicate more clearly, be more patient, and stay open-minded.
Despite differences in working styles or regulations, there is a shared passion for storytelling that connects everyone on set. I think this project showed that when there is mutual respect and a willingness to adapt, these differences actually become a strength rather than an obstacle.
It was an incredible learning experience, and I am grateful to have been working with an extraordinary AD Team.
