AD notes :

This project was challenging for many reasons. It was a production of significant scale, with large numbers of supporting artists required in locations all over Italy. Our team needed to be operating in several places at the same time, casting, fitting, booking and shooting extras in several locations simultaneously required our team to function on multiple levels. In addition the requirements of multiple units shooting in entirely different parts of Italy simultaneously presented challenges that our team overcame with grace and good humour.

The greatest take away from this project was the collaboration between the team members from Italy and myself from the UK. Our shared understanding of how a seemless set should be run was inspirational, and profound. The entire team worked in harmony with each other across multiple units.

One element that we discovered was that despite efforts to change the scripts to the English language, we decided to keep the project in Italian. In fact we went even further by leaning heavily into the regional accents of the main protagonists. This, of course, gave a heightened realism and authenticity to the project.
