AD notes :

The biggest challenge was that the days involving a large number of extras were condensed into a three-week period and alternated with more intimate scenes featuring principal actors and extras.
Also, we received some of the episode final draft very late in preparation. One episode were sent to us the very last day before shooting and we had to manage significant revisions during production. It was quite a challenge, especially for a project of that scale.

The scenes that demanded the most preparation from us and the actors — the duels, the horseback sequences, the musical performances, and the intimate moments — were particularly meaningful. Watching them come to life right in front of us was really something special.

The series is inspired by “The Dangerous Liaisons” of Choderlos de Laclos. It works as a prequel, but it also reconnects with the original intrigues and characters from the book.
With so many adaptations over the years — especially’s Stephen Frears film — we knew we had to bring something new and distinctive to the table. That was really the series’ biggest challenge.
